The soil, at a certain altitude, is formed by gravel from alluvial and colluvial deposits and has the necessary conditions for vine cultivation. It doesn&#8217;t require a lot of moisture although it does retain it once received. In these areas, the climate is mild and vines find the ideal place for growth.<\/p><p>Moreover, in the plain which stretches parallel to Sierra de Algair\u00e9n where more than 80% of the Cari\u00f1ena Wine region (D.O.) are located, Miocene clays soils can be found. There are four main types:<\/p><ol><li><strong>Gravel.<\/strong>\u00a0Dark brown and chalky soils on autochthonous deposits with reddish-brown soil areas. This is the most predominant soil in the Cari\u00f1ena wine region (D.O.)<\/li><li><strong>Royal.<\/strong>\u00a0Southern brown soils over slate mainly and quartzite, with areas of xeroranker and lithosol. This type of soil is second in extension terms within the Cari\u00f1ena wine region (D.O).<\/li><li><strong>Strong clay.<\/strong>\u00a0Soil of terrace over rocky dark brown and chalky soils over eroded glacis or allochthonous limestone deposits.<\/li><li><strong>Calar.<\/strong>\u00a0Soil of xerorendxinas on loams, sandstones, and sometimes gypsum levels, with lithosols together with dark brown and chalky soils.<\/li><\/ol><p>Another type of soil which occupies less extension within the Denomination of Origin Cari\u00f1ena is the alluvial, from the sedimentation of the river Jal\u00f3n and Huerva, near the towns of Almonacid de la Sierra, Alfam\u00e9n, Muel, Mezalocha and Villanueva de Huerva.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-0a4e6d9 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"0a4e6d9\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-42a9307\" data-id=\"42a9307\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-72e57f6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"72e57f6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"821\" height=\"628\" src=\"https:\/\/elvinodelaspiedras.es\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/07\/image001.png\" class=\"attachment-full size-full wp-image-6861\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/elvinodelaspiedras.es\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/07\/image001.png 821w, https:\/\/elvinodelaspiedras.es\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/07\/image001-300x229.png 300w, https:\/\/elvinodelaspiedras.es\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/07\/image001-768x587.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 821px) 100vw, 821px\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Cari\u00f1ena wine region is on a plain closed on the south-east by the Iberian System mountain range, in such a way that material depositions descend from the mountains to the plains, defining the use of the soil in each particular case.
