Cottony-white shoot with carmine-coloured edges. Young downy, white leaves. Adult leaves are medium sized or large, dark-green in colour and wedge-shaped.The petiolar sinus is U- shaped having a more or less closed lyre.
Clusters are cylindrical, medium-sized, separated and sometimes winged. Berries are round, small or medium-sized, bluish-black in colour. The skin is moderately thick while the pulp is juicy and has a pleasant taste.
Quality is the word that defines the wine variety “Merlot” which can be consumed early, at the end of two or three years. This variety mixed together with Cabernet Sauvignon provides flexibility and lightness to the wine, thus allowing for wines to be made more quickly.
