Cottony-white shoot with pink-coloured edges. Young leaves are downy, orange-coloured or bronzed. Adult leaves are large and with a defined truncated form. The petiolar sinus is lyre-shaped, generally with overlapped edges. Clusters are medium or large, long, tight, cylindrical and sometimes winged. Berries are medium, spherical, bluish-black in colour with quite thick and juicy skin and fleshy pulp.
These wines are rich in alcohol content, quite aromatic, strongly coloured and particularly appropriate for ageing.
